Management Accountant

Job Description

SF Recruitment are working exclusively with a well-established and growing business to recruit a Management Accountantt on a full-time, permanent basis. \n\nThis is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for an experienced finance professional who is confident managing financial records, preparing statutory accounts, producing management accounts, and supporting tax and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the directors and wider finance team, providing accurate financial information and ensuring statutory deadlines are met.

\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Management Accountant, you will be responsible for managing key financial processes across the business, including statutory reporting, management accounts, Companies House submissions, VAT, PAYE, CIS and corporation tax support. You will also provide ad hoc financial information to the directors to support decision-making. \n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nPreparing management accounts and providing financial information to senior management\nPreparing financial statements in line with accounting standards for submission to directors and Companies House\nSupporting the annual audit process by providing relevant financial information to external auditors\nOverseeing the preparation of VAT returns\nMaintaining accounting controls and recommending improvements to policies and procedures\nProviding company secretarial support for group companies, including the submission of relevant returns\nSupplying financial information to statutory bodies, including ONS and the Valuation Office Agency\nMaintaining financial security by following and improving internal controls\nSupporting the directors with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required\n\nThe Candidate\n\nThe successful candidate will have proven experience in a finance role, ideally within a fast-paced or growing business.

You will be confident taking ownership of processes, working to deadlines, and communicating effectively with senior stakeholders. \n\nYou will ideally have: \n\nACCA, ACA, ICAEW or CIMA qualification, although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered\nStrong experience preparing management accounts and statutory accounts\nKnowledge of VAT, PAYE, CIS and corporation tax processes\nExperience managing financial controls, procedures and reporting deadlines\nExcellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills\nThe ability to work confidentially and professionally with sensitive financial information\nA proactive, forward-thinking approach with the confidence to suggest improvements\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work closely with directors and external advisers\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a capable and experienced finance professional to take ownership of a broad and important role within a successful business
